Samsung keen on removing unified search from Samsung Galaxy S3.
According to latest Samsung news, the tech giant has reportedly removed the feature of unified search from one of their flagship products; Samsung Galaxy SIII, in order to avoid the possibilities of going under any further lawsuits filed by its rival and active competitor Apple Inc.
Recently Apple has won an injunction against the former mentioned company for its unified search; which comes under the patent of 'Siri', unified search. The company is reportedly been refrained from distribution of Samsung and Google's Galaxy Nexus in US. Google Inc. is reportedly working upon the Andorid operating system 'Jelly Bean' 4.1 update, in order to remove the unified search in the handset.
In earlier news, according to latest Samsung updates, the company seems to be making a unified web browser platform with an app called Samsung Browser for its tablet, mobile, and smart television platforms. Reportedly, the smartphone giant company is working on the Samsung Browser for its Tizen-based and Android devices. It is said that Webkit engine may be used for its first version (v1.0); however, the browser won’t support Flash and will be completely compatible on HTML5 video, according to a report published by Tizen Indonesia.
According to other report details, future Samsung Browser would probably include Web Video Casting for the company’s smart television from 2015. It will use Samsung Video Enhancing Engine to raise video support for television, S pen support, offline viewing and a reading mode. Additionally, the latest browser will submit local content. The new browser will allow users to easily sync passwords, bookmarks and history among its devices.
The Samsung Browser's new version will probably use the Blink Engine, a form of the WebKit that is being utilized by opera and also by Google for its Chrome browser.
The report also suggests that the Samsung Browser will use Servo browser which was introduced in 2013 by Mozilla and Samsung and will help in heterogeneous computing architectures. When the browser was introduced around two years ago, the companies claimed that the browser would be built from the scratch and will be programmed through Mozilla language. The companies later on also said that the browser based on Servo would entertain the causes of security failure.
Earlier, Samsung Galaxy and Microsoft also made an announcement which consisted of the latter company, would be providing its services pre-installed on Samsung tablets and smartphones. The list of apps consists of Powerpoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Word , Excel and Skype.
